England lost Euro 2024 final to SpainKane not at his best in GermanyWon't quit international footballWHAT HAPPENED?
Kane's future with England has been called into question following a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign. The 30-year-old scored three goals and earned a share of the Golden Boot, but was given a scathing review by pundits after the Spain defeat. Some suggested that it might be time for him to step aside from the national team but according to The Telegraph, the Bayern Munich man is expected to lead his nation out when they return to action in September.

Kane's decision is reminiscent of Lionel Messi, who temporarily hung his boots up after missing a penalty in the Copa America final against Chile back in 2016. But the Inter Miami man returned for his country and has since led them to back-to-back South American titles as well as the World Cup in 2022.
DID YOU KNOW?
Kane's three goals at Euro 2024 take his total tally for the campaign to 47. The former Tottenham goalscorer has looked tired at points this summer but there is no denying that he has enjoyed one of his best seasons in front of goal. Yet, again, he has ended it trophyless.

Kane will finally get a rest with just over a month to go before the 2024-25 term begins. He flew home with the rest of the England squad but will likely be jetting off for some sun before heading back to Germany in search once again of ending his trophyless run.
